Cleaning and maintenance
Oil-waxed parquet
Oil-waxing is a treatment in which the parquet surface is impregnated: the oil penetrates into the wood, while the wax remaining on the surface protects the wood against wear and dirt. Cleaning products reliably remove dirt from the wood surface, while care products restore the protective layer and help preserve the natural appearance of the wood.
Maintenance cleaning
For everyday cleaning, a brush, mop or vacuum cleaner is sufficient to remove loose dirt. More persistent dirt can be removed with a damp cleaning cloth. For damp cleaning, a mild cleaning agent such as Parquet Cleaner* can be added to the mop water. Heavier dirt and stubborn stains can be removed with Intensive Cleaner* or our special stain removers.
Deep cleaning
Intensive Cleaner* can be used to remove old layers of care products.
Initial maintenance
If desired, your floor installer can carry out initial maintenance of the parquet immediately after installation. This treatment provides additional protection for joints and edges against dirt and moisture. For initial maintenance, we recommend Colourless Care Oil*.
Routine maintenance
Mop Care* is best suited for routine maintenance. The concentrated care product is added to the mop water. The frequency of use depends on the intensity of floor use.
Surface restoration
The cleaned surface can be restored with Bauwerk Parkett special care oil. The frequency of oiling depends on the level of floor use. We recommend re-oiling once a year.
Lacquered parquet
The parquet surface is coated with several layers of lacquer to protect it against wear and soiling. Bauwerk Parkett offers two lacquer surface treatments: B-Protect® and matt lacquer. Suitable cleaning products effectively remove dirt, while care products restore the protective properties of the lacquer.

Initial maintenance
If desired, your floor installer can carry out initial maintenance of the parquet immediately after installation. This treatment helps protect joints and edges more effectively against dirt and moisture. For initial maintenance, we recommend Wax Polish* or Parquet Care Eco*.
For B-Protect® surfaces, only Parquet Care Eco may be used.
Routine maintenance
Parquet Care Eco* is best suited for routine maintenance. The frequency of use depends on the intensity of floor use.
Surface restoration
For restoring matt lacquered surfaces, we recommend using Wax Polish*, especially in areas subject to intensive use. As this requires a polishing machine, please contact your floor installer to carry out the work.
