Herringbone floors

Herringbone Floors – Timeless Design and Modern Functionality
Herringbone floors are a timeless and highly valued floor covering that suits both classic and modern interiors perfectly. The symmetrical pattern brings structure and elegance to a room while offering excellent durability and practical everyday comfort.
Herringbone vs Chevron – which pattern should you choose?
Herringbone parquet
A traditional parquet pattern in which the ends of the planks meet at a right angle (90°), creating a classic zigzag line.
Chevron, or French herringbone parquet
An elegant, symmetrical pattern in which the plank ends are cut at an angle (usually 45° or 60°), forming a precise “V” shape.
Different constructions – HDF, birch plywood and softwood core
Our range of herringbone floors includes several constructions to meet different technical requirements and preferences:
Parquet on an HDF core
For example Bauwerk Monopark – a very stable, thin herringbone solution (easy to combine flush with ceramic tiles, for example) and ideal for rooms with underfloor heating. HDF-core herringbone is available both as glue-down (Bauwerk Monopark) and floating installation options (Meister Lindura or the PS500 collection).
Birch plywood core
A particularly stable and moisture-resistant construction, suitable for gluing to the subfloor.
Softwood core
A natural and cost-effective construction, available in both glue-down and floating versions.
Installation methods – glue-down or floating (click) installation
Glue-down herringbone parquet
-
The best choice for maximum stability and sound insulation
-
Allows seamless, hidden transitions to other floor coverings without trims
-
Also recommended for smaller-format herringbone parquet and rooms with underfloor heating
Click herringbone parquet
-
Simple and fast floating installation without glue
-
Requires a high-quality underlay with a compressive strength of at least 220 kPa
-
Perfect for home use and renovation projects
